Elements

The following elements can be placed on a layer:

Elements can be moved within the layer. They can be copied and pasted into the same or different layer. Also resizing of text elements is possible.

Text fields

Possible text objects are selected using the box "Elements" on the right bottom of the screen. Clicking on the drop down icon opens up the following window:

Text Objekts

One or more text fields can be placed onto the layout using drag&drop. Text fields are always aligned to the layer grid. When dropping the text field, a window pops up that asks the user to specify the settings:

Keys

Keys cannot be placed onto empty positions inside your layout. To program keys a text field, graphics or an icon has to be placed on the layout. This object can then be assigned with key actions. Follow the steps below to add key actions:

Keys

Keys are placed onto the appropriate object using drag&drop. The key code to be output is selected from the table. Following settings can be made for each key:

Key code

Normally "Both" has to be used - Press/Release is only used to program key combinations.

Now the key attributes are set:

Key attributes

The key attributes are configured after adding the first key code. A sequence of key codes is programmed by repeatedly executing drag&drop. To change those attributes use button "Change button settings".

Examples:

Graphics

As the TouchKey has a graphical display, monochrome graphics (black/white) can be displayed, using a max. resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

Please see the graphics screenshot:

Graphics

Using drag&drop the selected graphic will be placed into your layout. Graphics are not aligned to the grid - they can be placed pixel wise.

Graphics and text fields can be assigned with key codes or with macros to switch to different layers.

Graphics need to be stored in the flash memory of the LCD controller. This is done with an external tool, generating an index number for each graphic. To include new graphics into the TouchKey programmer, those graphic files have to be copied into folder "./images/user_gfx". Furthermore the appropriate index has to be added to file "./library.def".

Icons

Similar to "Graphics". But Icons are always aligned to the grid. Icon files are stored in TouchKey folder "./images/user_gfx".

Layout

Here all created layouts are listed. Using this option elements on the actual layer can be linked to switch to other layers.

Link to layer

Drag the selected layer to the element on your layout - and set the appropriate key attributes. The info box will then show "Linked with" the layer name (if the mouse cursor moves over this element). If this button is touched, the display will switch to the layer linked with this button.
